In detail

20 km away from the city of Ushuaia is the beginning of the trail that will take us to the Esmeralda Lagoon. In the winter season it freezes and then it is covered with snow. Due to the conditions of the terrain, the adventure of trekking through the Esmeralda Lagoon will begin. We will provide you with crampons and a walking stick so that you can walk safely.

The journey to Laguna Esmeralda offers countless panoramic views and has a length of 4.5 km, almost 2 hours of walking at a walking pace. We will go along the Esmeralda River and arrive at the beautiful glacial water mirror completely frozen. And once there, while we enjoy the fantastic scenery, we will enjoy our box lunch.

Important information

To do this excursion it is necessary to be in good physical condition. It is not suitable for people with heart problems, diabetics, respiratory problems, knee or spine, pregnant women, children under 12 years old.

It is very important to bring warm clothes, snow boots, gloves, hat, scarf, warm jacket, thinner jacket, thermal clothes and a backpack.
In case of need, in the center of the city you can rent boots and thermal clothing.
