The Seven Lakes Road is one of the most important and impressive routes that can be done along this Patagonian route.
The Seven Lakes Road is one of the most important and impressive routes you can take in the Patagonian region. Starting from San Carlos de Bariloche and heading north, following the Limay River and then veering west towards Villa La Angostura. The landscape changes along the way between these two cities, beginning with the steppe, a landscape of coirones, black shrubs, and other low, bushy plants. As we approach the town, we gradually encounter Patagonian Andean mountains and forests.
After passing Villa La Angostura, the Seven Lakes Road begins. During this journey, we can see the Mirror, Correntoso, Hidden, Villarino, Falkner, Machónico, and finally, Lácar Lake, alongside which lies the city of San Martín de los Andes. If the weather permits, we may also catch a glimpse of Lanín Volcano.
This excursion lasts a full day, covering 355 kilometers and passing through two national parks: Nahuel Huapi National Park and Lanín National Park.
