Chaltén (National Capital of Trekking) is located 220 km from El Calafate and during our trip we will cross the Santa Cruz River, and we will stop for a few minutes at Estancia La Leona, next to the river with the same name. At the estancia we will make a bathing stop and you can enjoy homemade cakes and something hot to drink (not included).
We will then continue on to El Chaltén, bordering Lake Viedma and its glacier of the same name. During the trip, weather permitting, we will have breathtaking views of Cerro Chalten (also known as Fitz Roy) and Torre, as well as the Viedma Glacier and its impressive icebergs.
Once we arrive at Chaltén, we will have 5 hours to explore and enjoy this small mountain village. The ideal option for those who do not wish to do an extensive hike. To visit the Mirador de los Cóndores about 700 metres, with low demands, and the Chorrillo del Salto about 300 metres totally flat. Accompanied by a guide.
