Along 250 kilometers north of Bariloche, you can observe the most extraordinary landscapes of Patagonia.
On Route 237 that goes to Neuquén, crossing the Nahuel Huapi Lake bridge, and next to the source of the Limay River is the historic place where Perito Moreno arrived on January 22, 1876. He was the first Argentine who sighted the great Nahuel Huapi Lake, also called “Gran Olla” by the natives.
The route continues along the Limay River until you reach the great Amphitheater, a natural formation of glaciological origin that resembles a Roman Circus. On the same route – further ahead – is the Enchanted Valley with its immense and strange rock formations that surround Confluencia. There, the Limay River joins the Traful River and if we turn west we arrive at Villa Traful.
This locality is a small mountain village surrounded by a wonderful landscape. The Mirador del Lago Traful offers a superb view of the surroundings. If the journey begins in the morning, the arrival at Villa Traful offers the opportunity for lunch and the continuation of the tour with a visit to Puerto Arrayán and El Portezuelo. Finally, the section of the Seven Lakes Route, which takes us to Villa La Angostura, is the option to return to Bariloche.
