Its name is due to the towers that crown its summit and that resemble a gothic cathedral. To go there you have to go along Bustillo Avenue up to kilometer 8.5 called “el cruce” (the crossroads). When turning left, the road that takes us to the Dr. Antonio Lynch Winter Sports Center, the base of Mount Catedral, which has a tourist service in the process of being modernized, begins.
There, non-skiers can go up the cable car system to Punta Nevada and then take the chairlift to the Lynch Refuge, at 2050 meters above sea level. The panoramic view of Bariloche and its surroundings is magnificent. In summer the option is to trek to the Emilio Frey Refuge which is a 3 hour walk from the Lynch Refuge and a great variety of activities for the whole family.
